This is the last On30 model I built. Read

July 2007
The On30 Primer
was finished in October 2006 and now awaits the publisher's time
schedule. Many thanks go out to the manufacturers and modelers who
contributed to the project.
My last column of
'On the 30" Gauge' was published in the #48 of Light Iron Digest. Since Part 5 of the Vat Car did not
get published in issue #49, I have links to the entire project below.
With all this, I quit modeling in On30 as I don't
have anything new to add, as so much is being made and so many good models
built that I feel that what I have to contribute would be better utilized
on other projects. If you would like to see what I am currently
doing, check out the Baja and Rio Grande Railway link at the bottom of the page.

Murphy Obituary
Spud Murphy began writing me in 1993 and we corresponded until Christmas of
2004.
He sent a Christmas card and said he would write later but passed away shortly
after.
We inspired each other greatly, sending drawings of our On30 rolling stock
back and forth until one of us decided the drawing was done. Usually he
made the master drawing.
From all the drawings we made from 1993-1996 I published a book of drawings
called Uncle Johnnie's Rolling Stock Book. A year later I published a
second book of drawings.
We only talked on the phone twice and never saw each other. His letters
were always a delight to receive and I still miss getting them.
