Following the conversion of the steel flatcars, 
I decided to convert an Athearn 50' gondola in the same manner. 
These pictures show the car after conversion;
before and after painting light blue.

 After looking at the long blue car, I decided to shorten it.
 Several sections were sawn out of the completed car and the ends glued together.
I added archbar trucks, an upright brake staff to back date it,
and a basswood floor.
Car is painted with Kelly Green, which was bought at Wal-Mart.  
Decals were made for me by Rail Graphics.
A coat of Dullcoat toned down the shine and then weathering was added.
