Odds and Ends

This is a 1/43 scale Ertl van repainted and lettered
for my friend's railroad the South Texas Shortline Railroad.
The body was painted with the same Kelly Green as the trussrod flatcars.
The vent on the side was painted silver and the light, yellow.
The wheels were modified so they did not stick out past the body.
A light bit of weathering on the bottom edge.

This car started out as a Tyco HO gondola, to which I added
a wood frame. The top of the body is made from two HO
cast white metal boxcar doors.

This White Pass two bay hopper started out as a Quality Craft
EBT two bay hopper. Can't recall how it was modified, except
for the HO trucks and the lettering boards.

This is a scratchbuilt car made of basswood. The goal
was to mimic a C&S gondola. The length, width, and height
dimensions were reduced to fit in with the other cars
I had built. The dimensional lettering was changed to
represent this smaller car.

This is a propane car. It began as an HO
50' flatcar, was converted to On30" and then
had tanks, made from bubble gum machine plastic
containers, added.

This was also one of my first cars- a drop center flatcar
based on those built by WP&Y shops.

An ore car built upon an MDC HO ore car, made to resemble
a Gilpin Tram car. Car was not finished beyond this point.

Two steel boxcars made from Athearn HO 86' double door boxcars.
These were never finished, but used as an example of converting
HO rolling stock to On30".

Left: a Matchbox Models Of Yesteryear repainted.
Right: a Matchbox MOY built into a work truck.

One of the old 1/48 wagon kits from the 1960's--I bought
it half built and unpainted at a Flea Market for 50 cents.
