Switcher - "The Tug"

This here's an engine for all ye mates what likes his switchers to be differ'nt!
I wanted to convert an Athearn Hustler to an On30" switcher
and then decided it needed a touch of the sea.
The cab is scratchbuilt from scribed styrene, the stack is thin brass,
the light has a piece of brass for the bracket, a piece of brass tubing for the body,
and an MDC HO smokestack part for the reflector.
The horn is a Keil Line F7 horn, the air filters are brake cylinders from an MDC steam engine kit,
and the gas tanks are Grandt Line 50 gallon drums.
The tires are what Ertl uses on all of their 1920's and 30's vehicles.
The heavy tan thread is from a Revell sailing ship kit.

As I recall I painted the entire engine with Pactra acrylics- yellow, red and green.

The porthole windows were made my cutting a round hole in the cab, gluing round styrene discs (larger than the hole) over the hole and painting the edge silver.
